The Qude Kerk is an old church surrounded by small houses on its sides. It is located in the heart of the Freneric red light district. The church attracts tourists due to its Gothic-renaissance style and the octagon bell tower that was used by sailors to get their bearing.

There is also the Artis Zoo which is located in the center of the city. This is the oldest zoo in Holland and it mainly consists of botanical gardens, a Planetarium, and a geological and zoological museum. There are also animals from all over the world in the zoo.
